Scars Don't Fade

Scars Don't Fade

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

I don't mind scars, as long as they are the type that can be seen.

"
Scars don't fade
They don't disappear
No masquerade
Its so crystal clear
They're meant to stay
So just try not to break me.

Silver crescents
Shining iridescently
Hidden somewhere
Woven in the shell of me
Creating a patchwork
Laced with painful stories.

Scars don't fade
They don't disappear
No masquerade
Its so crystal clear
They're meant to stay
So just try not to break me.

Memories
Of battles won and lost
Stemmed from horrid crises
Forced upon you with an absolute cost.
A carved diary
Scripted and molded on your skin
A gift from Hades
Your own special chagrin.

Scars don't fade
They don't disappear
No masquerade
Its so crystal clear
They're meant to stay
So just try not to break me.
