TenebriousA Poem by jdr / JenniferDark, gloomy and obscure - a poem about nothingness
I sat behind
in line
at a funeral procession
And I remembered
A cold, distant, slated stare
Eyes of brilliance blurred by metaphors of bane
Sunken and drained, darkened now bare
A dawn lightened by content and worth
A stone that cast an immortal shade
An expiration date set at birth
Blood stains but the memories fade
I sat in front
out of order
at a funeral service today
And I recalled
All the hatred, love, passion, lies of the world
Hopeless cries of worn and torn out pages
Quieted, cooled, vacuous white sheets
Stolen sobs, impotent moments of pure nothingness
There you were on bended knee
And I, with a smile of endless grief
Pragmatic words, ambiguous meanings
