Racing towards Inspiration...A Poem by jdr / Jennifer
Trying to find the inspiration
Digging deep for motivation
Craving for an inner sanction
She digs the front of her foot hard into
the pavement
Stomping, shaping, fitting it into place
Tightening every loose end with her lace
Trying to grasp an enduring stance
Without a glance
She leaps forward
Sweat curses from every pore
Muscles sore
Aching for determination
Arms reaching with dedication
Grasping for the only satisfaction
Her tenacity is unbreakable
Yet she knows she’s reached her goal
Even before she has won
History is in the making
And she anticipates obtaining it
Accomplished, capable and competent
Adjusted, refined, ready to reveal her
mind
It’s time we take her best to the test
As she sprints passed the finish line
And as she finally rests
Lying openly in a sassy green, genially serene
Wide open field
While exposing her enervated figure to the
sun
Knowing that she has only yet begun
Her mind still racing of thoughts to come
Contemplating, concentrating on what
comes next
