Off Guard

Off Guard

A Poem by Joshua McNay

Right now, I'm sick to my stomach,
It's weird to see my happiness suddenly plummet.
You think I'd know better by now,
Still I'm caught off guard but I don't know how.
It's not like I can blame her for this,
If I never really swung, how can I miss?
Again I had to learn from someone else,
News she should have just told me herself.
With her, it's like the definition of insanity,
It's always the same, so why do I expect differently?
