A Happier ToneA Poem by Joshua McNayGot bored while watching E3 stuff, wanted to write in a happier tone. Turns out that involves me finding stuff that rhymes with tone. it's short and sweet. Enjoy the madness and the rhymes!I wanted to write in a happier tone, With hopes, my words could make me feel less alone. The rhymes I write, from the notepad on my phone, Are often jumbled, they just need to be honed. Sometimes I strike that perfect balance, I find the zone, Rhymes so good, i'm like a dog with a bone! Like ice cream with multiple scoops on the cone, A king, where my rhymes are my throne. No longer monotonous, no longer the drone, A baby bird, from the nest i've flown. While my happiness feels like it's on loan, Poetry is my craft, Rhymes the grindstone. When I write something I can call my own, I smile, and I damn sure let it be known! So while I sit here and write in my happier tone, A connection is established, and I'm no longer alone.
