Clean HouseA Poem by Joshua McNayStill a little blocked, time to clean up my mind?I’m taking a little time to clean Clearing the clutter, that is rarely seen All the ideas and thoughts, like boxes Stacked up high, left and right, Why so many fox? I need a place to store all the crazy things That why there is a purple monkey with a guitar that
sings? I admit it is often nonsense, but the boxes are me I need to organize, so high I can barely see The space has become so claustrophobic Nowhere to turn it’s a little tragic The train of thought is stalled, up here I am a hoarder I’m beginning to fear While I treasure the boxes I keep in the attic I need to clear them up and reduce the static Cleaning my mind, will free up space A chance to start a new and replace The old, worn out ideas that go no where From the talking animals, to the rocking 80’s hair Ideas that lead to nothing meaningful Fun and creative, but left my brain full No room for new ideas, which is why I clean Freed space will allow me to write, and you’ll know what
I mean Finally, it will no longer be cluttered A clean mind, I will no longer be flustered. © 2015 Joshua McNayAuthor's Note
