A New Day

Sitting at work and writing, just came to me.

I'm sick and tired of being depressed

Tired of my feelings being under arrest

It's time I just let them all free

Start to once again be the real me

Not someone for anyone else

I deserve to be happy, not have feelings put on a shelf

I can't sit here and dwell on the what ifs and what nots

When I do I feel my stomach fill with knots

No longer will I be uncomfortable

I'll do this for me, I mean I think I am able

To overcome and find some inner strength

I'll go any distance, I'll cover and length

Nothing will stop me, or stand in my way

If I ever feel down, remember tomorrow's a new day.

Excellent! I can definitely relate to this one, having fought depression as a teenager and into early adulthood. I started writing stories and poetry in my Sophomore year of college and it help set me free from those awful feelings! It was liberating! Very therapeutic. Bravo for this one!
