I was better...

I was better...

A Poem by Joshua McNay
"

I fell for it again.

"
I was starting to feel...better.
I was in a happier place.
The way I feel now though, there is a sadness on my face.
I don't know how this happens over and over.
My heart is breaking, I mean did I love her?
No, don't be foolish my friend.
It's just your heart can't accept the truth in the end.
You know I'm right and that upsets you.
I'm sorry it does, but I am just looking out for you.
I wish I was there closer to the start.
That way I'd have a better chance to protect your heart.
Time heals all wounds, I think they say.
Your scars are fresh, they'll heal up one day.
I know right now, it might be hard to believe.
But honestly the best thing for you right now is to let her leave.
Your heart is weak right now, it needs to grieve.
Find some solace in solitude, and happiness you can maybe achieve.
