Raised on TVA Poem by Joshua McNayJust a little something I jotted down. When I was young, I grew up with TV, Sitcoms, soap operas, and cartoons were it for me. I mean chilling out max and relaxing all cool, I used to watch the Fresh Prince right after school. They would take me to another place, take me to another
land, And watch me dance like Carlton. It was a simpler time for me back then, I often look back at the cartoon, like, remember when? Remember when Scrooge McDuck went back in time? Or when Gizmo Duck foiled the Beagle boys that one time? I recall trying to bounce here, there, and well
everywhere, After watching too many episodes of The Gummi Bears. Mixing Kool Aid, and Squeeze its, sure was a first, That’s what I get for trying to make Gummi Bear juice to
quench my thirst. That’s nothing compared to when I tried to put a jacket
on a chipmunk, I wanted to make real Rescue Rangers, thought it was a
slam dunk. My imagination would often get the better of me, I just wanted the friends that were on my TV. Turns out as you imagine the animals never talked, I mean if they ever did, my world would have been rocked. As you can see I was raised on TV, And I tell you what, it sure still means a lot to me. © 2015 Joshua McNay |
