When the sparkle fades from a relationship............the diamond "Whiterock" fades out

WHITE ROCKS

 

It’s winter time

But

I don’t see it

 

It’s cold outside

But

I don’t feel it……….no I don’t

 

I see bright lights through the frozen nights

Don’t know the difference between wrong and right

All I can see " I gotta be me

 

You’re crying now

But

I don’t see it

 

You’re lying now

But

I don’t believe it………..no I don’t

 

I couldn't change me at your every whim

Is that why the sparkle in your diamond grew dim?

This is lovely - not your traditional love gone wrong piece. It's like its all around you but you just cannot pinpoint why every soured, deep in your heart you know though, and slowly, slowly the first fruitful love wanes ... It takes two to last a relationship ...

My favorite lines. I gotta be me ... That's a mantra of mine for life :-)

I like the way you put this together.. it could almost be a song lyric.. too often we try to change who we are in order to keep what we think we need.. it hardly ever works..

It actually is a song lyric. Most of my poems are lyrics and there is music that goes with them. Just no category on here for music so I put them in "poems" and then "lyrics". Thank you for your review. Your synopsis of what I was trying to convey is spot on.

This is very nice :) "I see bright lights through the frozen nights" that's a beautiful line and I love the repetition. I've been guilty of not taking off my rose colored glasses in bad relationships. Great work! :)
