Our truthA Poem by Just_Joshing
Everybody tells me that us humans are smart,
That we are the pinnacle of creation, and none can top our art. They say that we are strong, virtuous and kind, And that our future is bright, bright enough to blind. But is this the absolute truth? I fear it is not, I fear for our lives, I fear we shall rot. Humans are not powerful, tough or strong, Leave us alone in the forest, and we will break, we won't belong. Our virtue is long forgotten, drowned in our ocean of greed, We want what we can't have, and take for granted what we need. Humans that are kind are few and far between, Minds tainted with sin, none of us are clean. And our future is not bright, it is dim, and dying, In truth, we are falling, though it seems we are flying. © 2016 Just_Joshing |
