Against the worldA Poem by Just_Joshing
A deadly chill touches my spine,
As I hear her cry, her sobs echoing mine. Tear filled eyes reflect my own, Once a king, now overthrown. My sister and I, what can we do but cry, and cry? No longer are we free to jump, frolic, play, and fly. The world of maturity drowns us in its paralysing embrace, And grasps our throats, choking us till we're blue in the face. Our beloved parents gone, not one, but two, Left all on our own, without a clue on what to do. We stand back to back, us against the world, As our bleak future begins to be unfurled. © 2016 Just_JoshingAuthor's Note
