Sorrow

Sorrow

A Poem by Just_Joshing

That little tear that falls from your eye,
That little drop that falls as you cry,
That sound you make, as it all comes down,
That sob you sound as it all turns around.
The thoughts you think on the brink of break,
The things you imagine, as your world starts to quake.
The thump you make, as you fall to the floor,
The crash you cause, as you slam shut the door.

Sorrow is strong, sorrow is thick,
Sorrow can break even the toughest brick.
Sorrow malingers and corrodes the mind,
Sorrow destroys our senses, it makes us blind.
Sorrow clouds our innocent minds,
Sorrow tempts us to pull shut the blinds.
Sorrow is thick, and we are thin,
I think its time to give up, and let sorrow win.

I do love rhyming in poetry it just thrills me to read it. I really enjoyed this poem and was hanging on every word. You described the harsh emotion of sadness and sorrow as it stands and the power it has over us..... Such lovely work. You have talent. :)

Great job. I could almost hear this being sung as I read it. It seems as if you have insight much greater than others have at your age (or at least much greater than I or my friends had at your age). You should definitely keep writing; you have natural talent which can't be taught.

Wonderful poetry Josh! The way you've described a feeling by the way it causes people to act and react is exceptional. You've really portrayed sorrow as a crushing feeling that suffocates us and can force people into submission. I particularly like the part:

The thump you make, as you fall to the floor,
The crash you cause, as you slam shut the door.

This is very real and it stood out to me as defining the other emotions that sorrow might trigger such as anger and desperation. Overall, very well done, thanks for sharing!
