The Creature.

The Creature.

A Poem by J.D Hernandez
"

A poem about one's outside look of themselves.

"

Every morning and every night

I walk by it.

It stays in its glass cage, always watching me.

I never dare interact with it,

For the hatred and danger in its eyes

warn me not to.

Every now and again

I see the glint of deep sorrow

in its glare.

It makes me wonder,

what tortured this creature

to this extent?

To mourn its very existence?

I never allow myself

to question more,

For the more I stare,

the more the glass cage

becomes a reflection.
