A Poem by jdcdickenson

It had been pouring down rain for days and my dog was starving to death
We split a Wendy's hamburger and kept the windows in the van rolled down
The cool air helped soothe the burns of a summer with no breezes
In the morning the rain stopped and the sun came and we parked the van and took a bath in a river
The joggers came in bright shoes and expensive shorts and pretended not to notice us
We dried off and got in the van and drove to nowhere
That night we parked, and starved, until we fell asleep

this is a very sad exposure of what it is like to be homeless...to live out of our car...and how others try to not notice...

problem is that poverty is often ignored, and it is such a rampant problem in this country, yet we go over to other countries and help them..

what about our indigent people..

you give this such perspective too, with your point of view.
