Optimism

Look ahead to your future--You'd be surprised how much "good" you can see.

The artist sings, the crowd cheers;
It makes me thankful I am here.

The flame dances merrily in the stone fireplace;
Just the thought of it puts a smile on my face.

While the little children play and laugh at the park,

I can't help but wonder, why should they be afraid of the dark?
With imaginations as bold and bright as theirs,

I think of all the bad things; Who really cares?
From smiles, to giggles, to compliments, to kisses,

All of these things that a lonely man misses,

Why feel so lonely, so sad, when you can still smile?

Sit down, and just think about it, for a while.

Because when I think of all the little details I see,

I realize, I believe, my best days are ahead of me.
