The Bride

The Bride

A Poem by Jayden Ireton

She walks in white into the light shining bright in the night.

She walks to an end. She walks to her best friend.

Tomorrow her identity will change. Tonight she lives a dream.

The lady in white, a mysterious sight. Her curls roll down her backless dress.

Her beauty is unmatchable in any town

The butterflies won’t leave for another day

Tonight she is preparing to give her life away

With her last night of freedom she walks among the trees

She tastes the maple trees

She sees the moonlight glow

The grass is growing in between her toes

Nature has a way of calming a fluttering heart

She walks on until daylight

She wants to remember it all

In just a few hours her hand will be taken

And her bridal bouquet will fall.

Wow, how peaceful. How beautiful. This is exactly how a bride should feel on her wedding day!

Thank you for reading.
almost a somber tone...like she is giving up more than she should to marry this man.

she is giving herself away, too much of herself and she feels it...she takes that last walk of freedom in the shelter of the forest...but the bouquet will fall with "i do"---and all this will be just a memory...the dream will end.
