The Fast Life

The Fast Life

A Poem by Jayden Ireton

Too many times the flame flickers out too soon

It is a tragedy every time

Why do we lose the greatest minds in a flash?

In our soul burns the desire to be the best

We want to make the deepest impact

Are we willing to pass in an instant to reach the masses?

Will we be remembered as another mind the world wants back?

Dying is worth it when you reach the top

Scream it from the mountains be whisked away

We make the difference and for that we pay

Thank you for reading and the kind words.
A powerful piece. It makes me think... what is worth giving my life for? Well, I already know ;) But this provides the thoughts of many, the mentality we possess as humans, the want to succeed!

You have portrayed life in a few short lines. Because one of the things we seek daily is acceptance, the power to overcome, and desire to change the world in our own special way.

Well done.
Well done.

Thank you for the kind words. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Good point and question. Why is it that when we speak up we are lashed out at? Very cool. I like this, a neat little package with a huge question burning

Thank you very much. I am glad it leaves the question burning for you.
live hard, die young. It is said when people live with this YOLO mentality to a point where it costs them their life
