The Dark Lady

The Dark Lady

A Poem by Jayden Ireton

the dark night envelops me in my bed.
no lights on dark shadows dancing on the walls.
look around, scary shapes dancing
dark red triangled eyes coming out of the closet;
white teeth below the eyes sharp, razor sharp;
gnarled fingers grasping in the night,
shaking back and forth coming for me.
lights would save me, but i have to pass her to reach the switch.
hair shooting in all directions, she’s coming,
she’s coming, she’s coming for me.
in the dark she is home; she waits for the dark to come.
shes at the foot of the bed,
growling in the dark, an unholy bloodcurdling sound.
goosebumps all over my body, this cant be real.
what do you want you wicked creature of hell?
she wants me; she needs me to feed.
she wants to sink her razor teeth into my arm.
blood stained sheets pop in my mind.
death’s w***e will get me; she will kill me.
my family and friends will never know what happened.
I have to get out of these sheets turning into restraints.
deaths w***e commands the shadows to move closer.
the shadows are coming to hold me down while she feeds.
she’s going to drag me to the 7th layer of hell when shes done.
death is imminent, almost wishing for death at this point.
death isn’t bad; it’s the horrors before death.
I see a light; the shadows disappear.
I am free.
