Green Eyes doesn't understand.

Mr. Blue Eyes doesn't get it either.

They both just nuzzle into her hand.

Neither is the wiser.

 

They look up at her with those loving eyes.

I'm sure they wonder why Jessica cries.

She cries because she'll miss them so.

What's funny is they don't know that she has to go.

But what hurts more is that she can't say goodbye.

Tonight, this is why Jessica cries.

 

Green Eyes doesn't understand.

Sounds like someone is leaving the nest and having trouble saying goodbye to the family pets... this is so beautifully bittersweet and tender.
