You

You

A Poem by Jessica Dallaire

Every day I feel you beside me

And every moment you are the one to guide me

All I have to do is close my eyes

Behind my every thought your memory lies

Your voice constantly plays in my head

There is no moment with you that I dread

I feel you when you are not there

I have finally taken off the mask I wear

Sadness is not what you see

It no longer consumes every part of me

You gave me this happiness that I feel

In my heart I now believe you are real

I no longer see you as an illusion

I am no longer filled with that sudden confusion

Now that I know what you are

Happiness and love do not lie that far

You have surpassed my every expectation

You seem like such a perfect creation

I will love you forever

And I pray that you and I will always be together

I know that forever is a long time

But loving someone that long is not a crime

If you do not believe that what I say is true

Think what you want my heart always belongs to you
