My Doubt

My Doubt

A Poem by Jessica Dallaire

"

I do know that you love me,

It is very apparent.

But if these things are so clear to me,

This doubt, why do I wear it.

Like a mask over my vision

My memories play

In front of my eyes

Every day you are away.

I long for the day you are back in my arms.

I Think of it fondly,

Missing your sweet charms.

But when that day finally arrives,

Will things be as they used to be be?

I hope it is true because when I close me eyes,

Your face is what I see.

Like a sweet nightmare

Your memory haunts.

Even though memory of you has faded

My love for you has not.

If for some reason you and I are no longer together

I will love you always

Despite the weather.

Rain may fall from my eyes

When a new love comes to pass

But my love will never die

As long as water can rejuvenate the grass
