Dream 11/23

Dream 11/23

A Poem by Jessica Dallaire

I was awoken this morning by your lips against mine.

But soon that moment was absorbed by time.

See, I opened my eyes and you weren’t really there.

The sound of your breath replaced by my alarm’s blare

I was hoping that time had just passed so fast

And that you were really so close at long last.

I searched in every place I could imagine you’d be

I even looked outside and in the shed just to see

But you were no where near that I could find

So I shrugged the kiss off as a dream of mine.

But how I wish that you were really so near

And that it was your breath lulling at my ear.

But possibly in time it will be more than a dream

With time everything will be just as it seems.
