Fragments

Fragments

A Poem by Jessica Dallaire

Take my hand and guide me through

Help me stop combating with my fears

Show me someone honest and true

Who won't cause me wasted tears

Love me like there is no tomorrow

Hold my hand as we grow old

Protect me from all possible sorrow

And you'll always have my heart to hold

But don't break me once you have it all

It could very well be your biggest mistake

Because if you so happen to make me fall

It might be the last time I risk a heartbreak

Don't think my heart is so quickly won

I no longer wear it upon my sleeve

I only want to open myself to 'The One'

Why give so freely and not receive?

I can't leave myself that open

So if you want me, show me you do

Prove to me you won't leave me broken

Instead of fragments, give me all of you
