Can't Make You Love Me

Can't Make You Love Me

A Poem by Jessica Dallaire
"

Written August of 2007. It is about a rather odd situation to explain. Basically, I started falling for someone and needed to vent. Typical me.

"

When you love someone but they don't love you back
You feel inadequate, that there is something you lack
You think that you must be doing something wrong
That feeling is with me as I write and sing this song

I know I can't make you love me
I wouldn't even dare to try
I can't make your heart see

What mine holds inside
I can't give you a reason

To give me just one chance
But I'd love you forever
Without a second glance

When they walk in the room and your heart almost bursts
The thought you can't have them, it feels the worst
When you know they are hurting and you can't relieve their pain
You know they don't trust you, he thinks I'm just playing a game

I know I can't make you love me
I wouldn't even dare to try
I can't make your heart see
The tears that you made me cry
I can't give you a reason
To let me help you let go
But I'd love you forever I thought you should know

Great lyrics for a song, you bring your feelings to the page in this piece and the rhyme scheme is good, nothing forced, it makes for good lyrics, maybe a little more information or a longer version would do justice to this piece, but all in all it is well written. Glad I stopped by.
