Limpid

A silly little rhyme inspired by the word limpid and otherS that sound as though they should mean the exact opposite of what they do!

Sounds that sound the way you say are
known as onomatopoeia.

no other word could ever top
ping and crash and bang and plop.

Other words sound suited to
describing that which they do:

Insipid's weak and unpleasant
while nothing smells quite like putrescent.

But some words just don't fit their sound!

Limpid surely can't describe
anything you should imbibe.

While bucolic sounds more like a disease,
than a pleasant pastoral scene!
