My Bedroom Slippers

My Bedroom Slippers

A Poem by jdTella

my bedroom slippers

are the rightful keepers

of the steps I take

thinking around

about the choices I make

I turn on the lights

I sit on the couch

and wait for the hour

when the nocturne train

comes to take me away

and the couch is a bench

the living room a station

and I know that I’m going

where thoughts stay afloat

in the floating nation

my bedroom sleepers

are the rightful keepers

of the steps I took

dreaming around

the Neverland

of

Captain Hook

About
"A black highway cutting through hills of white. A pale light hitting the mountains on the side, beyond the road. Empty wooden houses telling the traveller that sometimes, somehow, people inhabit that.. more..
