1

Starry winter night

breeze rustling the poplars

colder without you

2

Give her a red rose

to show her how much you care . . .

even if you don’t.

3

Birds sing before dawn

long before the bugle sounds

ready for the war

4

Mountain spring flowing

down a steep mossy ravine

past a dying antelope

5

Hope for the future

echoing in spring

after the lightning.

6

Freight train whistling

in the empty wilderness

full of memories

7

Holding your shaky hand

leading you into my house . . .

two lovesick strangers.

ALL of these are good but I actually uttered "Oh S**t!" when I read #7. Love 2 & 3 as well. So much jammed into so little. Going to check out the rest of your work.
