Chapter OneA Chapter by JCNot full chapter"People are like staind-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within." Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
Water fell from the sky like gigantic tears to the already saturated ground. The weather was perfect for the occassion. Aldora looked around her to see sets of trodden where her friends and family had once stood but now only her prints were the only ones left covered. The wind whipped her damp brown hair across her face as she looked on. She read the words once more, "Jacod O'Reilly, a loving friend and son. You are loved and missed. April 20, 1992 to October 20,2011." Droplets of water ran down her face, whether they were tears or rain drops she couldn't tell neither did she care.
Crushing emotions seemed to envelope her and brought her to her knees. She touched the smooth marbled words with her fingertips, "Oh, Jacob. I am so sorry, so sorry. This is all my fault." She sobbed. "I wasn't strong enough to save you! This is all my fault, I should've been the one to die, not you!" Sobs racked her body and her breath came in heaves as she covered her with her pale hands. © 2012 JC |
