Havens

Havens

A Poem by James C. Pulley
"

A kid gets bullied, & he finds an audible haven.

"
My hands shake,
bonds break,
But my face feels numb,
I believe the bullies around me are too dumb,
and so, I grab onto my loose mouth,
my hopes in a drought,
but when I get home,
a familiar object somehow tells me something, my gnome said,
"Go to YouTube,
see music, and fly like you don't have a single rule."
So, I go on there,
I feel like I'm in air,
when I find Skrillex,
it's like he's cooking within it, some Skittles.
And so, I have my earbuds,
Skrillex in it struts,
go to school,
& when I ignore the bullies, I know I got 'em fooled.
Goes to show, when you have music without rules,
you really do get out of the blue.
