Mascara Run

Mascara Run

A Poem by Jennifer Lenhardt
"

Prompt from November/Write a Poem a Day: http://bit.ly/eYJYpA

"
Mascara run
from black tears
I no longer want
it is too much
to take away
the brightness
from my eyes
Take away
the lipstick from my lips
perhaps this I could forgive
but not my eyes
powder, blush,
Mascara run
Oh, foolish boy -
don’t ever
make me cry

there's a strength in these words...but also a vulnerability..which works really well..

this was really lovely,in a few words you told so much
how ladies take much effort to bring and show much beauty
from few colors on cheeks like blush itself caused by he
eyes painted sweetly black from he,stubborn and causing pain
he who could bring so much brightness in eyes
he could make them bright or too dull
this foolish boy could bring down all that beauty
even with the shades and paints, and cause tears
that will wipe away all the efforts made for hours
how the interaction between he and she
beauty only he and she could bring out together
how i loved the joint effort of both,ha ha
lovely write..
