Around The Room

Around The Room

A Poem by Jennifer Lenhardt

I am found around the room
your shirt on
and I like to wear it
you look good on me
the all of you
that I willingly slip into,
so unafraid
I am the buttons
that will not break
the impasse
the glue
that nobody unbuttons
but me
though, it’s your shirt
and willingly I’ll give it back to you
but only if you want me to
though honestly, I am not ready
it feels good on me
it is big
and hides the very best of me -
and the buttons
do not break
I am found around the room
