Faces

Faces

A Poem by Joshua J. Certain

Appearance is propaganda

Your face

The poster child

For your personality

What is the smile?

Any relevance to the words you speak?

Age lines

Scattered and scarred

Young smooth skin

Blue eyes

Green eyes

Hazel eyes

What is the price?

Can we buy you?

Such a pretty face

Such high price

Such an ugly face

Another discount item

It doesn't matter what you say

Just let us sell your face

I think you make strong statement in this piece about how we view beauty. love the line "let me sell your face" this whole poems is summed up strongly with solid line.

It's all about the cliche's in life Josh. It will be that way till the end of time. It is unfortunate that we cannot all live as equals but that is the way it's been since the dawn of time. It is a very powerful write though, your thoughts came across very loud and clear. xo Nice job
