A JourneyA Poem by Joshua J. CertainAn allegory of poverty and illegal national market tradingHe's been living his life so drunk and stoned, looks at his life, He knows its time to pack his things, and go on home. He has seen the hidden sights of the old unknown, He has read verses, Only candlelight's have shown. He left an old man, And he came back old, Carrying with him only a bitter cold A violent war he fought and won, A war to tear down the tower of a rich mans gold. He watched as the rich mans royal flush turned into a handful of folds. With one last hit of the sweet leaf, One last swig of whiskey. His story becomes a legend in history. Words debated and forever told, of the man that destroyed the rich mans gold. © 2011 Joshua J. CertainReviews
