A Cathartic Cadence
by : Julian Carlson

Transcend past a heartbeat,

Haunted by a harpy,
Hearing the bones rattle -

in these halls.
Of sacred longing long after
you're gone.

It's ephemeral and affected, this moment im blessed with.
I'm on my own in bitter reflection.

Ruins and pieces in memories,
subside to bittersweet songs,
and letters put beside.

I'm not taking sides,
my meaning is hollow and fleeting.
But yet so lush and it's gleaming -

It's like a beam of light,
as a sword beyond time,
In blade or dagger,
may,
it take me,
as -
beauty -
OH!
Divine.

Transcend past a heartbeat,

Haunted by hollow souls inside,
Hearing the bones rattle -

in these halls
Of sacred longing long after -
you're gone.
