Oh Sweet Anguish

Oh Sweet Anguish

A Poem by jcarlson33
"

Something a little bit different from my usual style, tell me if you think it works. Overall, this piece was a cathartic one, I have had a bad night. I wish you all the best, it is all I can do.

"

Let us free ourselves of suffering and strife

Oh what a world it would be!

Copacetic and truly utopian.

To write and affect the change I wish-

Is but a fantasy.

From the primordial soup or petri dish-

We are but scum upon this Earth!

Woe is me and to all of us I bid farewell!

Let us free ourselves of shackles in the mind!

I am a fool, plain and simple-

I cannot see what is in front of me.

Oh woe is me, and to all of us a goodnight!

For suffering is my object and I fail of its aim.

I make wrong decisions and in contempt I lay.

Oh! Until the end of my days I shall lay in drunken solace and in cheap goodbyes.

Parking lots and bloodshot eyes.

I wish I could see who you were,

And make the choice I should have.

But woe is me, and forevermore I am doomed to mend this malady in verse and words

Aye!  It shall fall upon deaf ears! What a tragedy, but I expected nothing less.

To my love that I never loved,

I wish you the best.

You have style. Reminds me of other times and long agos. I hear your voice but I would really like to hear your voice. Poetry is sometimes about the conversation. Just thoughts.
