MY SNICKERSNEE

i hone my verbal
snickersnee to poke at each
racial slur i see...

i sharpen well my
snickersnee to slash and rend
the hatred humans feed...

i hone again my
snickersnee to cleanly stab
at religious intolerance...

i sharpen well my poetic
snickersnee to slice
away cultural ignorance...

i hone my verbal
snickersnee to create interesting
poems to share with thee...

I really like this, the idea of cutting down violence. Something we should all strive for in life instead of creating it. Also I love the word play in here, gives it a fun tune :)

...And what a fine job you do, wielding your weapon of choice: words!!...I love this, Jeannemarie, and wish we could all overcome these issues with our words...a fabulous write...

Where can I get one of those? They sound very useful indeed. I honestly look around at some of the things we do and say to each other, with a perplexed "Really, are we still doing that?" look on my face. When you need it, you will find that a helping hand has no colour, religion or culture.
Very well written Jeannemarie, with just the right amount of humour for that added twist :-)

haha,, i don't know what that is,, but I do know a poem that is clever, witty, and poignant. This is the point of Art (capital A intended) i.e. to challenge, to make people think, this one does both very well!! Great Job!!
