PLEASURE EXPANDING

PLEASURE EXPANDING

A Poem by jeannemarie coulter

PLEASURE EXPANDING
rain drops trickle down the window
of my bedroom
but i see the sun playing peek-a-boo
between the grey clouds
each is a gift granted to us with love
from mother earth and father sky
later
i walk along the woodland path
in mackerricher park
i share a smile with each person i see
my joy of the sun playing in the storm clouds
passed along freely
i wonder how far it will go

the next person i see
i stop to say hello as well as smile
he smiles back and wishes me a good day
i stop for an instant and share my morning tale
and we laugh together
he will pass the joy along
to at least one other person sometime today
and i wonder how far will the pleasure travel

will it go from one to the next
a small circle of expanding joy
from a simple moment of pleasure
felt in the early morning
because the sun and the rain
were playing like happy children
how far will it travel
will it return over and over to me
i know it will if we let it be...

Exceptional words, from a moment of catching a glimpse of the sun.
This verse is beautiful.
i walk along the woodland path
in mackerricher park
i share a smile with each person i see
my joy of the sun playing in the storm clouds
passed along freely
i wonder how far it will go

Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed reading it.

i love it...because it is really wise to appreciate the gifts of mother nature and father sky...but i especially like the idea of people actually saying hi to each other...

these days many will just stare and never return a wave or a verbal greeting.
