MORNING HALLELUJAH

MORNING HALLELUJAH

A Poem by jeannemarie coulter

MORNING HALLELUJAH
misty rain outside
huge drips falling
from the gazebo roof
beat a soft pattern in the large pottery bowl
rain filled in the night
a soothing splish splash
the peaceful pit pat
wrapped in warm wool cape
i watch the dogs snuffle in the tall wet grass
causing a tiny green tree frog to leap
from grass to flower to fern in irritated alarm
i wonder what they read in the scents not washed away
the entertaining tales of drifting rainy nights
soft wind whispered as secrets to the ferns along the deck
and a raven drops in to call a raucous good day to us
i sip my hot chocolate laced with my own amaretto
and taste the ambrosia of
hot raisin muffins dripping warm butter and honey
another day in fort bragg begins
and we are blessed and at peace
i say a simple prayer
that it would it be so all around the world
hallelujah hallelujah amen...

That would be a Rt17 morning then if I have my forts and my North Carolina routes rights, correct?
I used to be up that neck of the woods almost every week, just north east of there. I think, New Bern, sound correct? Well, nice poetry, regardless of my memory cells!
