EARLY STORM IN MONTANA

EARLY STORM IN MONTANA

A Poem by jeannemarie coulter

EARLY STORM IN MONTANA
with homespun wool scarf holding brim beaten stetsons
tight to their heads
and bound up in a thick sheepskin coats
with angora chaps over their jeans,
a*s turned to the freezing north wind,
while ice crystal snow flurries howl,
two hard cursing cowboys astride disgruntled stock horses
push belligerent breeding stock
down from the high pastures
during an early winter storm,
in the mountains of montana...
