REMEMBER IN THE SPRING

REMEMBER IN THE SPRING

A Poem by jeannemarie coulter

REMEMBER IN THE SPRING
remember in the spring
the flowers bursting forth to sing
the perfect profusion of color
in the fields beside the road home

remember in the spring
all the neighbors and family gathering
to celebrate the vernal equinox
in explosions of joy with melodies of laughter

remember in the spring
all that new life would bring
all the orchards flowering
and the soft rain washing everything clean

remember in the spring
summer’s abundance following
into the autumn harvesting
drifting to winter and the whole world resting
remembering the spring

i like this allegory---yes literally we keep remembering that spring will come, especially in the hard of winter...we need hope.

but this also represents how life just gets cold and painful sometimes...and we have to keep up that warmth of hope...and know things will eventually get better...and life will feel warm and cozy again.
