PAS DE DEUX

PAS DE DEUX

A Poem by jeannemarie coulter

THE PAS DE DEUX

smiling,
 giggle bubbling,
i enter this beau monde
joining the glitter
swirling
 wrapped in elegant laughter...
soft as rainfall
i tiptoe into life
laughing at my selves
i do not fit well
in this pas de deux
a royal dance
of the old and the new...

with joyful laugher
i practiced each step,
tried every dream
attempting to perfect
my own living dance
this elegant passage
of child,
to maiden,
to crone...
a joy filled remembrance
of my final performance,
an elegant pas de deux,
myself, and death...

yes, the dance of life...sometimes the only partner we can match on that floor is death itself, however, there is pleasure in the learning to prepare for that final dance...
