BATHING ONEA Poem by jeannemarie coulterBATHING the room is toasty warm steam rises in a lavender almond scented cloud above the bath into which she slowly submerges her slender weary body she rose with the sun her day begun now not long past sunset her chores are done she finished the livestock first the feeding and cleaning the fresh bedding in every stall and water in every trough then she weeded and watered the garden harvested what was ready fixed the meal and fed herself, her beloved husband/partner and the house cats and old ralph, the retired hunting dog, sleeping now by the living room fire, now, with it thus, all of it done the kitchen cleaned, the rooms all sorted out everything in the proper place, it is her time to please herself in the hot bath with the lavender almond scented steam and the lights off just the warm glow of many candles arranged with care around the tub her time to drift comfortable in mind body and soul after a long day well done, her daily reward, bathing... © 2015 jeannemarie coulterReviews
