SOFT RAIN

SOFT RAIN

A Poem by jeannemarie coulter

SOFT RAIN
soft grey light,
rain drifting to kiss flowers
across a meadow of purple gold,
sprite fairies dancing with raindrops,
laughter trilling from blade to bloom...
a mare noses her foal under the apple trees,
to shelter from light spring rain,
a peaceful damp day in the willamette valley...

"Laughter trilling from blade to bloom."
Perfect line!
The entire poem is a delicate delight.

Nice poem, very good imagery

this is the kind of rain that is soft, billowing, touching gently like that sweet kiss.
unlike the rain we have had here for two weeks straight...it has been slapping our faces with such ferocity...
this brought me a thought of peace...
thank you, jeannemarie.

Well the finally two words grabbed me. I grew up around Hillsboro, so it was a flash of light you caused in my head. Very nicely written with great imagery. A beautiful picture you have painted with your words.
