GARVIS' GARVY (tale 2)

GARVIS' GARVY (tale 2)

A Poem by jeannemarie coulter
"

a GARVY TALE

"

GARVIS' GARVY

garvy was six earth months old
and she could already sing
when the colony ship landed
on the planet garvis,
there were other children on the ship
but none like garvy
with opposable toes,
totally in the care of the ships robot medics,
her copper kinky hair
growing near as fast as the robot medics
could cut it,
with the alien liquid amber eyes
she could see into the mindsoul
of every living being on the colony ship,
even,

the seed plants in the ship garden green rooms,

there,

with the strange melodious voice,
she could sing the plants into slumber,
and,

her cosmic artistically gifted fingers and toes
turned whatever she touched into
a musical instrument,
creating songs that whispered through space
eternally...
trembling with their own life
in rhythms older than the universe itself...

honed like garvy...

 unique,
needing no translator
to speak to any earth born or alien species,
 only garvy,
and her music...
