fine pinto stallion

strutting through dry plains grass

image of freedom

 

fantasy spirit

hesitating to whistle

claims his domain

 

snorting his disdain

wild stallion boldly proclaims

nothing can tame me

 

startled at dawn

the pinto mustang defies

an unwelcome guest"

love these...they work as four separate haiku, but also as one poem when combined....a journey following one of nature's most beautiful creatures.

and just as i was responding to this poem about the Mustang...one of those direct Tv commercials with Hannah and her horse came on tv....serendipity? or twilight zone?

my guess twilight zone as i seem to live there most of the time...18th heat stroke yesterday so down under the ac today taking meds to please dr and daughter...spending my day reading (i love to) and writing as the mind slipslides about...thanks for the kind review...
