COLORFUL LITTLE PILLS colorful batch of pills chemical poison swallowed twice a day to fool a virus replicating happily in my veins...
as i swallow the last mouthfull, carefully controlling the automatic gag reflex, i wonder can pills have malice aforethought probably not but the pharmaceutical companies could and most likely would...
a well hidden visage lurking behind a facade of care collecting wealth from the pretense of seeking a cure molded into bricks of the need to keep us ill built upon a foundation of financial greed carefully creating...
colorful batch of pills chemical poison swallowed twice a day to fool a virus replicating happily in my veins...
the molecules of your body are the same molecules that burn inside the stars themselves, we are star stuff, we are the universe trying to understand itself...LOVE,LUCK,n LAUGHTER...jc

As you direct us through your daily routine you pose some very good questions regarding what pushes companies to make and promote drugs... you also acknowledge that the medicine only tricks the virus that continues to course through your veins... nicely done, my friend.

as mentioned in some of my other poems (MY LAST BASTION and MORNING RITUAL are two such) i am fighti.. read moreas mentioned in some of my other poems (MY LAST BASTION and MORNING RITUAL are two such) i am fighting AIDS...i was infected from blood product used to make my blood properly coagulate when my daughter was born...desiree turned 32 last december so it has been a long battle...this poem was written because i question the altruism of drug companies, after all they are a powerful multi billion dollar business that makes a huge profit from my disease or any other terminal illness...if we are cured, all healthy and such...where will their profit come from...and i am taking my last cocktail...when/if it ceases to fool the virus i will die unless they create something else...
This is a strong piece and i agree greed for sure rules the pharmaceutical companies... the last couple of yrs i have had to pop pills for pain and it is exactly as you said.. a daily ritual that only masks the problem until the next pills are taken!!

Well penned and delivered!
I watched my dear grandma take several pills throughout her life,
as did my aunt, I don't know what I truly feel about them or the companies
that make them, but I'm very happy to know that they seem to be helping you:)
Thanks for sharing and b-blessed
jeannemarie, I heard long ago that the technology is complete to make light bulbs that never burn out but they will never be sold so as not to eliminate the need. I've had similar suspicions about the Rx companies for quite some time. Your words suggest you have some strong feelings in much the same way. I hope that is just the way I'm reading it, but if you are indeed ill, best of luck...don't want anything bad for a newly-made friend. take care...dan
Mmm always have to wonder about the pharmaceutical companies. It really is not in their best interest to cure anyone, so are they?
Beyond that I'm glad you're in this supportive community where you feel you can express your thoughts and feelings as you battle with your health. Always feel free to send read request..goodness knows I send a bunch your way. ((Hugs)) Jan
