this wolf crawls out of the pages, lies beside me is you long and lean and hard from winter starvation, hunted you hide in bed slat shadows, snow covered canyons caverns crags beside me.
Very nice use of words. A complete story in a few words. I liked the use of the words. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry. I liked the feel of danger and the feel of the mystery.
the imagination can filter any moment in a book and bring to life, in vivid ways, those glimpses of our own yearnings and winter longings... love the concreteness of the lean, hard wolf, looking to quell its hunger... we all have moments like this and your piece leaves little to the imagination... I'd howl but I just might frighten my dog :)
The wolf is such a majestic animal, sort of like America's lion. I have an old friend on Starlite who rescues wolves and even raises them as pets, though not the conventional pet/owner relationship. She has to win their trust until they consider her a member of their pack. I call her the Wolf Whisperer. I am sending a copy of this to her. A very captivating write! take care...dan
Wow, you have got one of your characters coming out of your pages and sharing your bed. Now, he happens to be a long and lean wolf. No problem for you though. This must happen all the time! Thank heavens there are some snow covered canyons and caverns on your bed beside you for effect!.
