ConfusionA Poem by Janine BoiselleThis is a Shakespearean sonnet I wrote for English class back when I was a junior in high school.
Inside of your mind is nothing to see.
With clouds of misery and pouring rain, a mist of silence divides you from me; the only victor is the endless pain. Another day brings another goodbye; a steady build of agony alarms. The core of truth is now all left a lie. Honesty has vanished from broken arms. With one stream of words we can soon be glad and raise a smile to the sky above. This desire we hate that makes us sad brings hope and a reason to love a popular act: foolish and callow, is hiding in water that is too shallow?
