Another Day in the Life

Another Day in the Life

A Poem by Justin Blackmon

So what exactly am I doing
And why are the thoughts of you still here
Where exactly am I going
And why are you still following, despite your fear

It’s been so long
Since news of you has come
How could I have been so wrong
As to what you have become

Nothing turned out as I wanted
You can see it in my face
For memories have left me haunted
And my thoughts are quickening the pace

Seems as though we’re through and you’ve a face so pretty and kind
I turned away and you stabbed me in the back with a knife
And now the pretty face I knew has become aged and lined
What can I say, it’s just another day in the life

Hey I liked this! I say that about a lot of poems, but I REALLY liked this one! It was sad, but I like sad usually. I can relate to it, too. Good job!!! :]

The flow in this piece is very soothing and the mood is rather sad, but I really enjoy the contrast.

The flow is amazing and although the rhyme scheme is very simple it seems very complex.

All in all, a great read!

Thanks for sharing!
